Albany International Airport (ALB) - May 13, 2010 - The Hudson Valley Wine Bar has opened on Concourse B in Albany International Airport. The airport wine bar is located post-security and offers local New York wines as well as wines from other regions of New York state, as well as food. Featured wineries include Millbrook Vineyards, Brotherhood Winery and Whitecliff Winery. Bottled wines are not yet available for travelers to purchase and take with them, but this may be available in the future. The opportunity to sample local wines at the airport gives travelers the chance to taste wines they might not ordinarily have the opportunity to try. Travel Alerts for Nashville International Airport (BNA) for Late April 2010

If you are traveling to BNA, please note the following updates related to parking and terminal access.

Friday, April 16 - At 9:30 am, the Short-Term Garage entrance will be closed for approximately 2-3 minutes to mobilize construction equipment into an adjacent work area. In the afternoon, another 2-3 minute closure of the entrance will occur.

Monday, April 19 - The Short-Term Garage entrance will be closed from 1:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. - Blasting of rock for utility trenches will begin Monday. These blasts will not result in any roadway or pedestrian path closures; however, warning sounds 5 minutes prior to each blast will be heard. Blast times are tentatively scheduled for 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, April 20 - Vehicular access to the Terminal will be stopped on Terminal Drive at 9:25 a.m. for approximately 10 minutes to allow for a scheduled blast. Please note that no flights will be delayed because of blasting or other construction work. Parking areas will also remain open.

Terminal Renovation Updates

Beginning Sunday, April 18, the restroom on the north end of Baggage Claim level will be closed for approximately 14 weeks. The south restroom will remain open at all times during this period.

The evening of Sunday, April 25, the north entrance vestibule on the Ticketing Level and the north entrance vestibule on the Baggage Claim Level will close for renovation construction and remain closed for 10 days.

New Portland International Airport (PDX) Parking Garage offers discounted parking and contest until April 8, 2010

Portland International Airport (PDX) - March 19, 2010 - The Port of Portland's $156 million parking garage at Portland International Airport opens today. With motion-detected moving walkways and 3,500 parking spaces, the new seven-story garage more than doubles the amount of covered parking at PDX.

To christen the new long-term parking garage, the Port is offering a promotional rate of $12 a day through April 8. Regular rates will rise to $16 a day, or $3 an hour.

You can also enter to win free PDX parking for a week at flypdx.com The new garage has over 3,000 covered, convenient parking spaces. Dayton International Airport Completes Concessions And Information Desk Project

Dayton International Airport (DAY) completes the addition of new airport restaurants with the opening of the 12th Fairway Bar and Grill

Dayton International Airport (DAY) - February 2010 - The Food and Beverage Concessions and Information Desk Project which began at the end of June 2009 completed with the opening of the final Dayton International Airport restaurant, the 12th Fairway Bar & Grill. The project included expansion of the pre-existing Boston Stoker Gourmet Coffee Bar to the new Boston Stoker Arts Cafe, which is located near the baggage claim area. The cafe offers an expanded menu and seating. A Boston Stoker Gourmet Coffee Bar is still located in the main terminal next to the Business Travelers Center. In addition, a Quiznos opened across from gate B14, next to Tool Town Tavern; a new information desk was constructed next to the main entrance; a Starbucks opened across from gate C16/18 next to the Concourse C Business Travelers Center. The final Dayton airport restaurant, the 12th Fairway Bar and Grill is also located across from gate C16/18 and replaces the All Stars Cafe. It is described as "a unique, family friendly restaurant and bar that provides a lively, casual atmosphere. The walls feature murals of fairways and greens from local golf courses." The restaurant also "will serve a selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items including traditional sandwiches, entrées and salads, plus a full bar specializing in unique scotch selections" according to HMSHost.

Albany International Airport (ALB) - January 2010 - Silks Saratoga Bistro is a racetrack themed airport restaurant which just opened last month at Albany International Airport (ALB).

Silks is a full-service, proprietary airport restaurant concept developed by HMSHost specifically for Albany International Airport. It is located in the main terminal, post security in the Times Square area and is part of a ten-year food and beverage concession contract awarded to HMSHost, a world leader in travel dining and shopping, in 2008. "Travelers will find that HMSHost and the Airport have embrauced the heritage of the region with the addition of Silks Saratoga Bistro. Silks represents a superb dining experience and is an excellent start to our new partnership with HMSHost," said David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority.

Silks’ menu features a number of selections from Albany’s finest restaurant, Jack’s Oyster House including Jack’s Famous Caesar Salad, Jack’s Seafood Duo of broiled salmon and seared scallops, Jack’s Finest Cowboy Steak and Jack’s Lump Crabmeat Martini. Guests will find a selection of Old Saratoga Brewing Company beer on tap, in addition to cocktails, wine, domestic and imported beer and non-alcoholic beverages. A colorful thoroughbred statue—one from the Horses, Saratoga Style exhibit—welcomes guests at Silks’ entrance, offering a sense of place of the Capitol Region and horse races for which it is renowned. Also highlighting the entrance is a “rail” similar to the one that circles the Saratoga Race Course. The restaurant’s décor imparts the excitement of the area’s racing history, from large wall murals and framed replicas of “silks” worn by jockeys during Saratoga Races, to flat screen televisions airing local horse races in real-time throughout the day.

RDU Music Series Kicks Off in Time for Busy Thanksgiving Holiday
