Passengers Carrying Insulated Beverage Containers Subject To Additional Screening
The TSA has issued a notice stating that passengers carrying insulated beverage containers (thermoses, drink cups, etc) may be subject to additional screening measures. This is based on the possible risk of terrorists concealing explosives in these containers, according to the TSA website. Empty, insulated beverage containers are still allowed in carry-on and checked baggage. Remember, that the TSA fluid restrictions still apply, so these items should be empty. For further information, see the public notice regarding insulated beverage containers on the TSA web site.
